I got my eyebrows waxed two days ago. yesterday morning my eyebrows were broken out. help?

They are still broken out right now. the redness went away but its so annoying. and if this helps i first got them waxed at ulta about 2 months ago. and now i got them waxed at c%26amp;c unisex salon in the mall. (in middletown, NY) it wasnt the cleanest place ive seen. they did a horrible job and this happened. what can i put on my eyebrows to make the hives go down? and what could cause this?I got my eyebrows waxed two days ago. yesterday morning my eyebrows were broken out. help?
Clean your eyebrows with a cold wipe, then put some cream onto them they should soon calm down. Its most probably where you are allergic to the waxing stuff xI got my eyebrows waxed two days ago. yesterday morning my eyebrows were broken out. help?
usually the ';cooling lotion'; or aloe sometimes makes the skin break out, you could try taking an allergy medication like benadryl
it might be because you have sensitive skin.

try putting zinc oxide on it, it won't cure it but will help a little. you can buy it at the drug store and possibly in the grocery store.
i would suggest putting ice on it to stop it from being so red and puffy..they prob. used some wax that irritated your skin.
Maybe you are allergic to the type of wax they used.
Try using some ice, and neosporen, that should help.
I don't know what is wrong but putting some aloe vera on it can't hurt.

Best way to get eyebrows waxed?

I want to get them thinner so that i can die my hair lighter without it looking terrible with my dark eyebrows..i've done them my whole life by myself and they look fine, but i want them to be thin so it wont look bad with my hair but wont look so thin that its just retarded looking. Pics would be nice. ThanksBest way to get eyebrows waxed?
My advice: get them shaped by a professional the first time, then do the upkeep yourself.

You can always try using an eyebrow pencil that is a slightly lighter shade than your eyebrows to lighten their look just a tad without seeming fake.

PLZ do not be tempted to dye your eyebrows - eyebrow tinting is so dangerous and is illegal in a lot of states.Best way to get eyebrows waxed?

Keep this in mind (sorry for the large print) I am trying to correct this on my PC). As you get older %26amp; you tend to keep your eyebrows very thin , your upper eyebrow skin will lose its tone %26amp; will eventually sag, giving you not the eye brow line that you once had. You can check this out by looking at facial features as in different photos of mature faces. Eventually it will happen.

Have you thought about highlighting your hair instead of going lighter? I bet you would great in it?
Try looking online; at celebrities and what not to get ideas.

Match their shapes and colors with the color you're planning on having your hair.

Also, try magazines,etc.
go to a nail salon they usually have eyebrow waxing for like 5-10 bucks

  • I waxed a piece of my eyebrow off! wut do i do?!?!?

there was a little tiny bit of wax stuck and i was trying to take it off but i accidently pulled off some of my eyebrow it doesnt look too bad but its noticable thinner

should i fill it in or make the other one thinner?I waxed a piece of my eyebrow off! wut do i do?!?!?
depends on exactly how thin it is, but i would thin the other one, girls look better with thin eyebrows. just make sure to do it right! or get a professional to do it, just to be safeI waxed a piece of my eyebrow off! wut do i do?!?!?
DO NOT thin the other one!!!! Get a matching (eyebrow-hair color) pencil liner, fill up the missing part and touch it up with matching color eyebrow powder. It'll grow back. Thick full eyebrows (specially groomed ones) are GORGEOUS! and hard to come by. In the future, line your eyebrows with baseline and a cue-tips before waxing. I also learned the hard way he he!

    Good Luck,

    Monik.
Go a beauty salon and ask their advice they won't charge you for their advice unless they thin the other 1 for you if they thin it for you it shouldn't cost anymore than 5pounds
Fill it in. If you keep trying to make them match it will get worse and worse.
haaaaaahahahahahahahhaha, heheheheheh hahahahahahhahah haha funny **** thanks for the laugh
wow, shatty..Yuh fill it in i would say and thin the other one but dont butcher it
    thin the other one

Why are people asking me if i wax my eyebrows?

im not an adult yet... how old do u think u have to be to wax ur eyebrows???Why are people asking me if i wax my eyebrows?
15ish, ppl prolly ask u that cause they might look small or just dont look busheyWhy are people asking me if i wax my eyebrows?
Honey you can wax your eyebrows from day1

No it doesnt hurt all that much either
were i live you have to be 16 yrs maybe its because they look so neat and tidy.
That is actually a very nice compliment! It means you have a nice arch, no bushiness, smooth look. It normally takes either a lot of experimentation or a professional to get this look and to get it right for your face without looking fake!

So, next time someone says that to you, tell them no, it is natural beauty! And be proud of it!

You can start to wax your brows at 15 if your parents agree. If your brows are really bushy and the hairs go low into your lid some moms will okay a wax for a special occasion (proms). It is pretty inexpensive and quick at the beauty parlor! Regular waxing can commence once you are 18.
I think that 16 is a good age. Make sure you find someone who knows what they are doing. I've been hurt before by letting a friend do it. I just pluck now.
i dont think there is a specific age when you should start. i started getting mine done when i thought they were too out of control and I was getting a lot of stray hairs.

Maybe they are asking if you do because you have a good shape and neat brows. if thats the case you dont need to wax:)
    around 11-13.

    i started at 13
casue you have some hairy eyebrowns and any age.
Maybe they think you have nice eyebrows. I started waxing mine at 17. It depends on you.

Waxing is preferable and safer. Peace!

Which lasts longer? waxing or threading your eyebrows?

Yeah... they both do the exact same thing. They rip their hair out at the root. Neither one is going to last longer than the other.Which lasts longer? waxing or threading your eyebrows?
It lasts the same. Both processes do exactly the same thing. They're judt different in that waxing is waxing and threading is threading. However, threading is better in that it can remove even the tiniest hair and can give more shape. Learn how to thread your own eyebrows and save money lol.Which lasts longer? waxing or threading your eyebrows?
    Threading lasts longer.

Threading eyebrows takes the whole hair off, including the root. Waxing just cuts off from where the hair appears on the skin.

Threading deff. hurts more, but after a while you'll get use to it.
they are essentially the same thing.

waxing uses wax to rip out the hair of your eyebrows, while threading is literally just like tweezing, except with thread. They both remove hair by ripping it out at the folliclee.
I would have to agree with the other answers int the fact that waxing and threading does the same thing. But in my experience, threading did last longer. I really don't know why or how.
threading your eyebrows over time the hair stops growing becuase you are pullin the root out ,where as waxing you are not pulling the root out over and over.
    threading your eyebrows, definately!
threading is a much better option.....czit gives u a perfect shape....wax makes d skin appear greenish.......
THREADING, EVEN THOUGH IT HURTS LIKE A MOTHER F'r
What in the world is ';threading'; eyebrows???

Why not seriously?! If it works go for it! I've heard that just chap stick works great for taming unruly eyebrows. Can I use hair wax to hold down my eyebrows?
I have thick eyebrows as well, the best gel I've used is the Dior Brow Gel, they come in clear, blonde, brown, and black. It's not sticky and lasts all day.
i use hairspray... spray onto your fingers and style your eyebrows lol

and you can use hairspray on your eyelash curler... it keeps them curled :)
I guess you could? I would suggest plucking and trimming them maybe if they are that much of a problem though.
yes and you could also use hairspray.
    Clear mascara works great!

Does it hurt for a 13 year old to get her eyebrows waxed?

im getting them waxed tomorrow because the first day of school is on the 3rd. im kind of scared. plz help!!!Does it hurt for a 13 year old to get her eyebrows waxed?
i got them first done when i was 14. i was soooo scared and didn't want to do it. i thought it was going to hurt a lot but honestly

it doesnt hurt at all. u know what helps me? ask them to count to 3 and then wax ur eyebrow. that way u know when to expect it and u wont be surprised! it just burns a little for a few seconds after.

don't worry at all! plus, your eyebrows will look amazing after!! :)Does it hurt for a 13 year old to get her eyebrows waxed?
i'm thirteen, and it doesnt hurt at all. i was scared at first, but the whole pain thing is soooo overrated. seriously. and even if it does hurt, just think about how great they will look :) and it will be done in a few minutes.
I'm not even going to lie it does hurt but it gets better when you get it done some more times. The first time i got mine done I almost cried and my mom started to laugh at me but it was worth it! It can change your whole look!
No not as bad as you think. I am thirteen %26amp; I get my waxed every other week. The actual anxiety you have before you get them done is the worse part. Rather than the pain itself.
Haha.. I just got mine done. :]

No, I don't feel pain when I do it..

Maybe 'cause I'm used to it..

But the first time I did it, it didn't hurt.
it doesnt really hurt, it will make your eyes water a bit. but it is much easier than trying to pluck them yourself. it is a bit uncomfortable but not really pain. you'll be ok
sorry it depends on if ur sensitive to pain but if ur used to pain like if u pluck one eyebrow hair out it wouldn't hurt then it wouldn't be that bad
Honestly it does kind of hurt, but only for a minute and then it's totally worth it!
No, your eyebrow nerve endings don't grow in until closer to 17.
    hurts just a little

  • Eyebrow hair being long anough to wax? Please anwser!?

The salon people said i have to wait for my eyebrow hair to be long anough to wax, before i can wax them. my appointments in 10 days, i usually tweeze them, shall i start not tweezing them now, so there long anough to wax?Eyebrow hair being long anough to wax? Please anwser!?
Stop plucking them now, its the same principle as leg waxing the hairs have to be long enough so the wax can grip on to them.Eyebrow hair being long anough to wax? Please anwser!?
Yea you should stop Plucking now. It's like Leg hair , it has to be long enough for the Wax to get a good hold on the hair !
I have never picked or waxed my eyebrows...they are natural and they are a lot, believe me, but I like them this way...And guys thing that I am hot however...If you wax or pick them when they grow again just look bad!
Frankly I can think of better ways to spend my mornings, why not just let them grow and be natural?
i don't n know why you need to wax your eyebrows ... why don't you start threading i guess that would be much easier
dont tweeze! dont do anything. just wait. i just got mine waxed yesterday and it feels so good to touch them now. no furry hair yay!
before waxing i leave four days, they should grow, unless yours are light or you dont mind them been longish,

but i would leave about 4-5 days.! depending on how fast they grow...

you just reminded me i need to book an appointment!

    Thanks! xx
Get your tweezer! Why wait for them to grow long enough...?!
if you want them to wax them and have them nicely done..STOP....I don't see why they told u they needed ur hair to be longer..u can usually wax pretty much any lenght of hair
leave it cause the hair will grow back and they'l end up having too twese the short ones.
Let them grow and hopefully 10 days will be long enough to get them to a suitable waxing length.

I recently got my eyebrows waxed and it made me break out all above my brows!what do i do?

its really gross and usually i have pretty good skin. the lady put this stuff on it last time to make me not have a reaction, but it didnt work! no one tell me i shouldnt get them waxed or that i should pluck because niether is happening. I have very thick eyebrows and tweezing makes me sneezeI recently got my eyebrows waxed and it made me break out all above my brows!what do i do?
mmm... it might be an allergic reaction. i had this face wash i used to remove black heads and my nose started breaking out too. it turned out to be an allergic reaction. for good allergic cream, get hydrocortisone cream 1%I recently got my eyebrows waxed and it made me break out all above my brows!what do i do?
whatever u do DO NOT WAX THEM EVER AGAIN!! my friend had the same problem and it didnt go away for months shes alergic to the wax also ur skin could have got infected clean it with whiskey or vodka and pat dry with cotten wool gud luck darling!! remeber to get them plucked next time
I just went with my friend to go get hers done and by the time she was done she looked like a cave man! but no worries the ';swelling'; or '; puffyness'; should go down. I would suggest to put baby oil or use unsented lotion to help speed the process along.
Get a cotton ball and apply alcohol on your eyebrows. Good Luck!

Can I wax my eyebrows with this?

I was wondering if i can use the nair shower cream to remove hair from my eyebrows. I wasnt going to do it in the shower but in the mirror with a q-tip and wipe it off with a wet towel. Is that a good idea? Or is there a better way and why?Can I wax my eyebrows with this?
I have done that before, and it works but you just have to make sure you use a strong cream.

After doing it I found that waxing is much better though. Its worth the pain. :)Can I wax my eyebrows with this?
I personally choose to pluck mine. removing single hairs works better for me and although it's painful, its not nearly as painful as waxing. i wouldn't use the nair becuase you could accidentally screw up and you would be missing an eyebrow or a patch and then you would regret it. if plucking hurts you too much try putting an ice pack on your eyebrows for 5 minutes and then pluck..you hardly even feel it. =]
No that is not a good idea! Nair has special chemicals that burn away the top layer of skin which takes off the hair with it. Just go to any department or beauty store and get a new pair of tweezers, and pluck! Beauty is pain. (:
It is not a good idea, I would say pluck, but I hate it too.

So instead, get those eyebrow shapers. No chemicals, less painful, easier, and faster.

You just have to be careful because it's blade your dealing with
no nair when you put it on burns away the top layer of skin its just like shaving good for legs but nothing else try just using regular wax and tweezers good luck and i hope this helps if not im so sorry
Yes that sounds fine to do, but if you suddenly feel a sharp pain in your eyes dont worry thats just the cream telling you its working ;)

When you get your eyebrows waxed/done?

Does it hurt when you get your eyebrows done because i want to before school starts. Also how often should i go to do touch ups? When you get your eyebrows waxed/done?
Getting them waxed only hurts for like one second, so don't worry.

getting them threaded hurts like a m*$%26amp;%#F*$%26amp;%er!

i get mine done like every 3 months, but it just depends on how fast your hair grows, my best friend does hers like every two weeks.

Also certain acne medications will cause your skin to be pulled off with the wax, not a big deal but will look red and raw for about a week. If you use prescription acne meds you should call your doc. :)When you get your eyebrows waxed/done?
nope not really. i usually go to this place where they use strings to get the hair out. it doesnt really hurt. i mean theres that sting you feel cuz obviously ur having ur hair pulled out. but i assure u the pain is just like a little ant bite and its gone in seconds. no need to worry. touch ups? depending on how thick ur eyebrows are. mine were thick but not so much so the girl told me to come back after a month. my sisters was so thick the girl told her to go back after 3 weeks. but i never went back cuz i just maintained it myself by tweezing it once the hair grows back a bit.
Threading is the best - it's like plucking but much quicker. PERFECT shape. Never had my eyebrows done before - went in first time, barely hurt, made my eyes water a little but doesn't plucking a waxing? DON'T do waxing, that tears of skin. Threading is the best. And go to an indian place. They're the best.
my mom waxes so she does my eyebrows like every 2 weeks and waxing defenitly lasts.

i wouldnt say it HURTS because im use to it but it does sting a little but after the 3rd time you get use to it and the good thing is that if you wanx for a long time after a while hair stops growing.
yes it is painful...but it's not unbearable.

it's a log quicker and accurate than plucking, especially if you have a professional do it for you. i would suggest it over any other types of hair removal.
waxing lasts longer than plucking but the best way to get your eyebrows done is threading, it lasts long and looks amazing, if you want it before school starts you should probably go two or three days before
It doesn't hurt. It stings like for one second but then thats it. I held my best friends hand the whole time and it made it better haha. And I just keep mine done by plucking stays. Good luck
i do my own eyebrows because im good at it.

%26amp; i get compliments on it too :)

lol but when im doing my eyebrows i start sneezing :P

I hate waxing and plucking my eyebrows....?

How else can I fix my eyebrows????

PLEASE HELP.I hate waxing and plucking my eyebrows....?
You can have them removed with laser removal. It should cost around $60 and it is painless. Should take around an hour, there should be a local place to go to in your area.I hate waxing and plucking my eyebrows....?
Girlll, I would honestly go with Threading your eyebrows.. Its quick and painless. You won't break out and they really know how to shape your eyebrows. I had a problem for YEARS with my brows, and once I discovered threading, I never went back. You should check it out!

    Here's a little synopsis :)

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in parts of India, the Middle and Far East, and is now gaining popularity in Western countries.

Threading is a hair removal technique that uses 100% cotton thread. The cotton thread is twisted and rolled along the surface of the skin entwining the hairs in the thread, which are then lifted quickly from the follicle. It is more precise than waxing and allows for better lines.

The technique is rather inexpensive because it does not require costly chemical ingredients. Messy waxes and creams are avoided altogether. For women who would like to pursue a more natural beauty regimen, hair threading is a good choice, since it does not use harmful products.

As opposed to waxing, the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process making threading gentler on the skin. Threading is highly recommended and an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, or similar products.

Eyebrow threading is a practice of shaping the eyebrows. Eyebrow threading is a preferred hair removal technique for a number of reasons. Unlike tweezing or plucking, eyebrow threading removes one clean line of hair all at once, making it much quicker and easier to shape the brows. It is important to find an aesthetician who is experienced at eyebrow threading. Inexperience can result in uneven brows, hair breakage, ingrown hairs, or unnecessary pain.

Most urban areas have a wide variety of spas offering eyebrow threading, and many online resources offer reviews of the service. If you are unsure or have questions, you should feel free to contact any of the salons sponsored on this website, and they will be happy to help you.

GOOD LUCK! :) Hope this could have helped!
you can do threading where you use string..

i do it and its fantastic

    many people do it

    usually indian people do it

or use a hair removal cream? but if you do be careful to read instructions

just apply where you want the hair to be removed.

    :)

    good luck!
THREADING! it's AMAZING! it's also better then waxing, it lasts longer and doesn't hurt that much or stay red as long as waxing! I uset to wax and pluck but when i went to the salon to thread I was amazed at how easy it looked;NO STICKY WAX!
unfortunately we have to suffer to be beautiful. i don't suggest shaving it thou beacause i used to and it ends like a stubble O_O ew so i suggest you can get hair removal cream which is less painful. a suggestion is veet.
I prefer a method called threading. They do it at the malls here in MIlwaukee. If it is offered where you live you should try it. It's not that expensive and lasts for a few weeks.
I've been doing this for many years. If you do it all the time it will seem less painful. You can put cream on it.

    Good luck!
There really isn't an easy way to fix your eyebrows without them hurting. The most painless way would be to shave them, but then you would have to do it about every day.
Try threading, you can do it yourself or go to a salon, it's much easier and painless, feels like a little tingle.

    =D
There's a technique that people use that removes the hair by using string; try to find a salon that does that in your area.
Before I go to pluck my eyebrows i always put hand creme on my eye brows then dab them wth a wet tissue. I know it sou ds weird but jt feels like less pain to me.
    Threading.
You could always try threading. I heard it's alot less pain and it last pretty long.
Pain is beauty... Thats my motto that i live by when it comes to fashion and style

  • How long does it take for your eyebrows to grow back after getting them waxed?

I got my eyebrows waxed for the first time and I wanted to know how soon will they grow back. Please no smart-alic answers. Thank you!!!How long does it take for your eyebrows to grow back after getting them waxed?
It will start growing the next day, but it won't look the same as it did before until weeks after, probably about 3 weeks. And don't worry, whenever you get your eyebrows waxed, especially for the first time, they look wierd. I remember when I first got it done, I freaked out, but after a couple days it starts to look more natural and I started to like it.How long does it take for your eyebrows to grow back after getting them waxed?
I also had my eyebrows waxed for the first time and the tech told me to come back every two weeks. I don't think this means they'll completely grow back in two weeks but that the ones that were too small to wax off will be long enough to wax off then. I figure about a month to grow out.
yea probably about 2 weeks. I get mine done alot and the more you get them done the sooner I find they grow back.
Hey, Mine grow anytime between two weeks to a month. Depending on how they are done. :)

    Enjoy!
longtime. i'm still growing mine out but my sister uses Talika Eyebrow Lipocils and it seems to work for her. i even read in allure magazine that rogaine applied to those sparse areas works too

    good luck!
it takes about 2 weeks i think i have been doing it since i was in 4th grade

Can you grow your eyebrows back after years of waxing? I'm trying to make them wider. Thanx!?

Yeah........I was a kid of the 80s and everyone wanted sleek thin eyebrows. (What were we thinking!) Well, women like Brooke Shields showed us the error of our ways. Yeah.....mine grew back. (did I really admit that on here?) But yes.......to answer your question.......they do grow back. Just find a period of time when you won't necessarily been seen in public as much so you can allow the suckers to come in before forming them back into something that looks decent. Ok did that make sense? A little time and patience is necessary. Can you grow your eyebrows back after years of waxing? I'm trying to make them wider. Thanx!?
yes but they take too long to grow back! good luck!

Is there aa way i don't have to tweeze or wax my eyebrows?

I'm going to the salon after having me eyebrows tweezed by a friend, the thing is i found out that you have to keep on tweezing them, is there a way that i don't have to keep tweezing or waxing them. I'm getting them shaped. I don't care about the moneyIs there aa way i don't have to tweeze or wax my eyebrows?
You can get them permanently removed or you can bleach it.Is there aa way i don't have to tweeze or wax my eyebrows?
Laser hair removal is now available :) Check out the ones available in your area. It is a permanent removal of hair.
use a laser you can by them in argos , i ve used them only did one treatment and hair never cane back .

I just got my eyebrows waxed should i get them tinted?

my eyebrows are naturally light, would it be a good idea to get them tintedI just got my eyebrows waxed should i get them tinted?
My friend had that done... It looked sooo good.. but it looked natural too.. not fake. Do itI just got my eyebrows waxed should i get them tinted?
well i believe its a good idea if your hair is darker than your eyebrows or if you can't see them otherwise just leave them.
only if ur eyebrows are so light they're not noticable.
Depends on your hair color but think that you should because even with blond hair dark eyebrows arent noticeable...Well do what you think would look good (since yahoo answers arent 2 reliable)...

Is there a way to do your eyebrows besides plucking them or getting them waxed?

I have bushy eyebrows and I want to get them done, but plucking all the eyebrows would hurt too much, and i hate getting my eyebrows plucked, and i can't get them waxed because im on this special medicine that makes my skin sensitive and the wax will burn my skin. Does anyone know another thing I can use to have my eyebrows done?Is there a way to do your eyebrows besides plucking them or getting them waxed?

http://au.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind…Is there a way to do your eyebrows besides plucking them or getting them waxed?
There are special eye brow shavers that you can buy. Not razors, but kind of like electronic shavers that kind of look like a really mini version of a normal head hair shaver. You can buy them at chemists and beauty stores usually, and sometimes they come with extra attachments, like nose hair trimmers, if you ever had a problem with that. Haha.
~*There's this kind of electric razor thing, that's small like a pen, and its to trim facial hairs, like on ur uper lip below ur nose, or inside ur nose and stuff like that,, and they can also be used for the eyebrows;; i recoment you get eyebrow stencils so they will look really pretty and you won't mess up =]. The electric razor also doesnt hurt at all so don't be afraid of it.*~

    _-Hope this helped =D-_

by the way u can get this product almost anywhere, at CVS, Longs drug store,, maybe even wallgreens?
it wont work as well as waxing/plucking, but there's this product sold by avon which is an eye brower trimmer, but it shaves off hair too. i have no link to get to it, but i know they have it:)

you can also try to find a thing like nair or veet, but for your faceee
Threading works well, I've heard. But if your skin is so sensitive that warm wax will burn it, I don't think any method will work, until you're off the medication at least. There are also products that smooth the hair away (I think Smooth Away is an example of one).
Just freaking suck it up, seriously.

Beauty is a pain if you haven't noticed by now.

Either pluck them, or waste $10-$20 for an electronic mini razor.
    thread it.(:
Getting them threaded hurts, but not as bad as plucking. At my mall there's a place called Beauty by Thread and that's where I go. Plus they do a really really good job with alot of detail.
You can get them threaded, supposedly it works well and doesn't hurt.
Well you can shave them but that seems like itd be a little to hard x]
The beauty salon I go to will use a scissor like tool to trim down my eyebrows if I want a thicker look.

    It's completely painless :)
    Threading
    Burn it!

Does it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed? I am very sensitive to pain!!?

Doesn't hurt, just stings for a sec. Does not last but a second, so don't be scared. You are going to love your brows when they are done :-)Does it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed? I am very sensitive to pain!!?
Well kinda, you get use to it, some people(me) cry when u get it done but...you dont relize your doing it. your eyes go all wateryDoes it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed? I am very sensitive to pain!!?
    haha^ ya it does
Yes I did it once and it can be very painfull :( Tweezers are better but the wax does a good job,
wow kind of weird im going today to get mine waxed lol. and i have had it done many times and it is not bad at all. seriously get it done, its way better then tweezing, just do it! hope i helped.
    its nit sore atall

    its amazin feeling
Heck yes! You know what someone told me once? Redheads are more prone to pain (FYI) and that you should not have caffeine before you have anything done because it increases your sensitivity, no matter what color skin or hair you have. Good luck!
i think it does ... but i squeeze my fists tight ... its over with fast anywayss
of course it hurts. you're ripping hairs out of your body. it's a choice--caveman brows or a couple seconds of discomfort.
first couple time. not that much though.
It hurts a little, but then they put a soothing gel or ointment on them which cools the skin. It isn't really all that bad.
It depends on how sensitive your skin is and how good the waxer is. A few minutes before you go, you can rub orajel or anbesol on your eyebrows to numbt hem a little and take som advil about hal hour before and that will help any pain and whatever swelling you might get after. IT's reall ynot too bad generally, though
alittle, but it is so worth it...the pain isn't that bad...and you will have perfectly arched eyebrow....and it lasts a long time!
It doesn't hurt that bad, but if you have a low pain tolerance, then you might feel pain. It helps if you put some ointment on to soothe it after and to stop it from getting red.
It's not near as bad as you'd expect, and the pain goes away really quickly! The only thing is that the skin under your eyebrows will be red for quite awhile, so I wouldn't do it right before a big appointment, date, or anything like that!
It doesnt hurt bad at all. Its so quick that the pain is very short. And they aren't sore afterwards either. If you have never gotten them done before I would def suggest trying it out so that way you can see how it feels. I was really scared before I got mine done for the first time but a friend of mine did them for me and it really wasnt that bad.

Plus it definitely feels alot better than tweezing and the results are great.
It shouldn't hurt to bad even if you are sensitive to pain. It doesn't hurt be at all.

    Good Luck!
You wouldn't be a very good spy then.
Yes, but only for about five seconds. Take Advil about 30 minutes before you get it done. It will help. Also, tell the wax tech that you are sensitive, and she can put her finger over the waxed area right after it's done (it does help).
i do it every two weeks when i get my nails done. first time smarted pretty good but you get use to it and it is no big deal.

    it relaxes me actually.
I have never done it before but I have had ex-girl-friends who have actually waxed their bikini area . . . And that is why I made them ';EX'; . . . If you want to wax something then why don't you try the kitchen floor on for size?
No. That's just an old wives tale. It tickles. Really bad. I mean A LOT!!!

You'll be all, ';Oh man, this is really going to tickle';, then all of a sudden RIP!!!

    ';OH @#$%!!! It tickles so bad that it's making me laugh very hard. I think that I am going to pee my pants right now. Oh, I pee'd my pants. I thought it was bad when my brother held me down and tickled me, but this is way worse!!! Awe, I just craped myself because I am laughing so hysterically!!! Will it ever end?';

    Then the other people in the place will be all,';I am watching this person laugh very hard. This makes me want to laugh as well. I believe that I too will pee my pants!!! I did! I did just now!!!';

Then later, as you are sitting in a Red Lobster eating the Ultimate Feast, a bus-boy will come up to you and punch you in the face. You will no longer be laughing.

    But I will...
It stings for just a second but is really worth it to get it done professionally. It looks so much nicer then trying to do it yourself.
it hurts to pluck out 1 eyebrow hair with tweezers - so yes, waxing will hurt.

the pain will go away in several seconds.
It does hurt a little bit but it's such a small area that it's not that bad. The more you go the less it hurts too! If you do find it to painful there aare other solutions. I have very sensitive skin and my waxer uses rose wax. Ask your local salon/spa if they carry it, i have been really pleased with the results. You could also try threading it's supposed to be less painful! Don't fret though it lasts like 2 seconds!
    yeah kinda.sorry
it hurts abit for its only for a few secs. i'd say it hurts less than plucking.
the first timee ... little bit painful ... you dont really feel it afterwardss :)
if you're sensitive to pain, it will hurt to get them done.

the middle and the top are the least likely to hurt... but the skin between you're eyebrow and eye will most likely hurt alot.
it does hurt... especially if your sensitive to pain.. it will hurt when they do it, and be sensitive to touch for the next few minutes, but after that, you'll be glad and it'll look good
If u are sensitive to pain, please do not get your eyebrows waxed. Have someone shave them with a razor.

  • Two days ago I had my eyebrows waxed, now I have a bunch of tiny white heads(I think). I need a quick fix??

This is not my first time having them waxed.

This has never happened before. Two days ago I had my eyebrows waxed, now I have a bunch of tiny white heads(I think). I need a quick fix??
to open pores rinse a washcloth under hot water and then press it against your face. Then use nutregena's clean and clear morning burt with shine control!!Two days ago I had my eyebrows waxed, now I have a bunch of tiny white heads(I think). I need a quick fix??
aahh i hate it when that happens! just keep washing your face. biore's pore unclogging scrub works really well. also whenever i get my eyebrows waxed i put neutrogena's rapid clear gel all over the area that is all zitty and it goes away much faster

Ok my school dance is on FRIDAY and i'm spazzing i have everything done but i just got my eyebrows waxed and?

now i have these little bumps and pimples all were my eyebrows used to be please any zit removal remedies PLEASE HELP MEOk my school dance is on FRIDAY and i'm spazzing i have everything done but i just got my eyebrows waxed and?
They're probably not pimples. Your skin is just irritated from having hot wax on it and your little hairs ripped out. Try putting some aloe on it, I bet it will be gone in a couple of hours.Ok my school dance is on FRIDAY and i'm spazzing i have everything done but i just got my eyebrows waxed and?
    use a ice pack

that is common for those getting waxed 4 the first time. clean the area, dab a bit of aveeno lotion, and leave it alone. touchin it will only make it worse. it should be better within a day or 2. i used to wax ppl's eyebrows at a nail salon i used to work at, and many ppl get it done evry 2 wks, or once a month. by doing that, ur skin will get used to it and it wont be as painful as ur 1st time was.
If you have time to get a product, get something soothing. The hreading people near me use tea tree oil to soothe the skin, but vaseline and other moisturisers will help.

If you don't have time to get something, alternatives are wet tea bags, stick them in the fridge for 15minutes then put them on your eyes to cool them down, or cucumber. Hope this helps :]
I don't think they're spots, its probably just a rash or something from where the hairs have been taken out..

If the appearance isn't reduced before your dance, put ice on the area for a few minutes, and then apply concealer and foundation

    Good luck xxxx
to be honest, id be more concerned about the ';spazzing';, you have a few in grown hairs is all, try neosporin it will help, and for the ';spazzing'; try valium or tramadol.
    OK OK chill..

They arent zits, they are rashes from where the skin has been irritated.

It should go down soon.. Try putting some cold face cream on it to sooth is

    Enjoy the school dance :)
Make-up is pretty much all you can do, It should go away with in couple days. most likely before you have this dance.
i don't think those are zits i think those are ingrown hairs all i think you can do is to get the hair out.
they're probably in grown hairs and swollen /reaction to getting them waxed

    i'd try neosporin
Just wash your face daily and put lotion or neosporen on it.

Once a week for me. How often do you wax/shape your eyebrows?
    wax once a month

tweese- once a weekk(:How often do you wax/shape your eyebrows?
I don't :)....im too scared and like i dont need to...i have failry shaped eyebrows...not very hairy. BUT most of my friends on average every three weeks, they go to the salon..but i think they pluck in between.
Every two weeks, religiously. I'm particular about my brows....luckily I have a friend who's an esthetician!
dang, I wax them like every month or so.

I tweeze like once every week and a half until I get them waxed again.
I wax every three weeks, but I pluck between waxes.
My hair grows really slow, so about once a month.
    once a month

My eyebrows right now are slightly on the thick side, kinda long and have natural curve. I want to wax them. Any styles? Also I'm getting my eyebrow pierced soon, so something on the thin side. (:How should I wax my eyebrows?
    go to the salon

you can get it done for 10$$

    an it'll look good...

if you mess up u could end up with half an eyebrow or have to pencil it in

plus @@ the salon, they can keep them thick an groomed :D :D :D

    perfect for your piercing :)

also, when your hair comes back u can just pluck what comes in

an you only have to get it done once every 3 weeks

The skin around my eyebrows breaks out after waxing.?

I searched around yahoo for questions about breaking out after eyebrow waxing, but they were all about just the skin feeling rigid.

I don't get my eyebrows waxed too often, but every time i do it makes the skin around it break out. It breaks out in little pimples and acne. I don't know why, maybe my skin is more exposed to pollutants in the air? I've been using my proactiv but it hasn't really been helping. Any advice on how to get rid of it, and how to not make it happen next time I get a wax?The skin around my eyebrows breaks out after waxing.?
The same thing happens to me!

I think it could be since that the hair was removed, your pores are opened, so more dirt gets into them and causes pimples. Right after you get them waxed, wash your face. And keep washing it regularly. And thats all i can think of. You should try asking your waxer, :)The skin around my eyebrows breaks out after waxing.?
i don't know this happens to me 2.

    hold on

it says it might be allergic reaction 2 it, you can try getting them done somewhere else, or u can put aloe vera lotion on them or skin cream or a cooling gel. the hot wax irritates your skin, so keep it moustrized before you get them done. you can also try threading here's an article on it. http://www.nzgirl.co.nz/articles/2617
i think you're allergic..you're skin is maybe sensitive or maybe if you just started waxing them..it could be coz you're not used to it.

    hope i helped :)

    Princess Nash
maybe it's the baby oil they put on afterwards, or it's just the wax that makes you break out. it happens to me too. it's probably the baby oil
dnt worry bout iht it happens to meh i just dnt mess wit iht nd it goes awayy sooner or later its just a reaction to the waxinq if you just started waxinq dem or dnt wax dem frequently is maybe cuz ur not use to iht
If it's that much of a problem, why don't you just pluck?

Im 14 nd I want my eyebrows to look nice and stuff. shud I get them waxed? I heard tht waxing them isn't gud?

Get them waxed!! They'll last a good few weeks and they don't hurt to get done!!Im 14 nd I want my eyebrows to look nice and stuff. shud I get them waxed? I heard tht waxing them isn't gud?
ok i guess i will be the only one to say no!!!!!! no no no! here are my reasons why,

waxing and plucking at such an early age screws UP how your eyebrows mature it its shape and thickness.

ok say you get them waxed now but when your 17 you want to change them to have a higher arch, but when you let them grow back you find that all the waxing has made it so your eyebrows dont grow as thick as you need there. so your stuck with ugly 14 year old brows.

trust me when you get older you are going to have a way better mature taste.

and your going to find that your eyebrows are not how you want them to be later on.

for now if you really dont like your eyebrows then buy a makeup pencil and ever so slightly lightly darken the parts of the eyebrow you want to show the shape.

    but remember ever so slightly.

then in three more years u'll find that not waxing was a great idea and then you can figure out the shape you want.

and note: most of the people replying are also 14, so they dont really know what they are talking about.Im 14 nd I want my eyebrows to look nice and stuff. shud I get them waxed? I heard tht waxing them isn't gud?
Honestly... you start that and you will end up needing/wanting to maintain it and that costs money. And brow hair grows back fast. The cost could really add up.

Honestly it's a good idea to know how to shape them yourself and what looks good on you. Not all shapes and arches look good on every face...some look ok with a sharp arch, but others look better with a softer one or mostly straight.

    http://www.netmums.com/homelife/Shaping_…

Scroll down to the ';Now do it'; section, it has a good simple diagram and explanation for the rule of thumb of how to shape. Going by those, you can tell which areas of your brow go past the line and should be plucked out.
Hey I'm 14 too and I do NOT recommend waxing. But I DO recommend this new way to get a nice brow called THREADING. Its an Indian technique that uses a thread to clean you're eyebrows, its really cool.

The first time I got them they kinda hurt but not as much as waxing and plucking does. It is wayyyy better then waxing!

    Hope I helped!
ur right girl, DON EVER EVER EVER WAX THEM

    you'r lid would fall..

One time I got to a beauty salon to get my eyebrows waxes THE WOMEN THAT WAXED MY EYEBROWS MADE A MISTAKE

I CRIED FOR THREE WHOLE DAYS :(

    NOT KIDDING

    IM HONEST

i asked her to not wax them too much AND SHE DID.. SOO I WAS SOOO PISSED OFF..

    don't wax them pluck them...

your 14 I think you are young for plucking or waxing them

    BUT

IF YOU MAKE UP YOUR MIND %26amp;want to pluck them go with someone who knows how to pluck like (mom, aunt, friend, a women from a beauty salon, a professional) then you will learn how to do it

but go with someone that knows FIRST...

someone you TRUST it is you face VERY IMPORTANT..

%26amp;BTW by waxing it never grow I MEAN YES IT GROWS BUT IT takes time

    HOPE I HELPED...
I started getting my eyebrows waxed when i was 13 it is alot better and less painful than plucking and lasts for longer. I prefer getting them waxed than anything else and its the best thing to keep them tidy. so if u want to then go for it :) x
    get em threaded!

    i heard threading is better.

    and it comes out nicer.

but for waxing it doenst grow back for a while.

threading, it grows back in 2 weeks.

    pick me for best answer!
dont believe that. I get mine waxed, and they look pretty.

btw: can u answer my question?

Go for it, BUT you have to make sure that you have them shaped right or you'll be sorry.

They won't grow back as soon if you wax them. It works great.
yes get them waxed. i do it all the time. it's amazing. but you gotta keep up with the plucking. sooner or later it doesn't hurt at all.
I wouldn't get them waxed, I heard people said it's bad. I would get them thread, I heard that the results is better and it's less pain.
i would wait and decide when I am older.once you start waxing you will have to have it done often. It is a pain.
you can probaly wax them but i recomend using string or plucks but i preffer string
dont believe that waxing is soo cool...even though it hurts when they snatch it off..it still makes your eyebrows look nice...hope i helped.
I get mine waxed...get them waxed it last longer than razoring them. trust me
    get them waxed
    thread your eyebrows
    waxing is better than plucking

u should wax them...it does not hurt, well at first then u'll get used to it

you aren't supposed to get bumps after getting something waxed. you might be allergic to something in the wax. try going somewhere else that uses a different kind.
put oil on them right after...just a bit across the eyebrow area...
If you wax them yourself then your lil waxing kit should have come with an oil that you put on after waxing so it can make your skin feel good....if not then just buy something like vitamin E to put on so it can sothe your eyebrows because i know it does hurt!!!!!!!!!!LOL

Wax around it. Buy a home waxing kit like Nair Facial Wax which is perfect for eyebrows. Do your best to avoid it than go back in with tweezers and get rid of the few stray hairs. I doubt that the wax would penetrate the hole but it's risky to try.

well when you wax the hairs, they grow back grow thinner.

i would prefer wax.Is it better to pluck or wax ur eyebrows?
A mix of both; wax every once in a while, but then pluck the smaller ones that grow back faster. If your facial hair gets out of control, wax again!

But be careful! I would go to a hair salon to do it for you, because they can do it professionally.
I think waxing lasts longer. I dont know how or anything but it does. You would probably just need to go monthly and just pluck stray hairs inbetween waxing.

You will probably get more shaped eyebrows if you have them waxed.
waxing your eyebrows is waaaaayyyy better then plucking and it hurts a lot less. If you pluck your eyebrows then your eyebrows tend to bulge out and look ugly. threading is the best though.
Since you're tired of doing your eyebrows weekly, then I think waxing is for you. It generally isn't too expensive, $15 to $20 I believe.
    For quickness - Waxing

    For preciseness - Plucking
waxing hurts less lol!!! It depends where your going to wax it. But waxing is usually better

i am a guy, and i notice a lotta guys get there eyebrows done at the barber shop with the machine or blade.

Is it better to do it this way, or getting it waxed?Should i wax, or get my eyebrows done with the shaving machine?
i have lots of guy friends who get theirs waxed are are super happy with them that way.Should i wax, or get my eyebrows done with the shaving machine?
you should get threading done, its painless and won't leave marks like wax and blades do, but do you really won't to be a follower like every one else
    Wax

Can you answer this please? :)

ya, if i were a guy i would get it done there. Besides i dont think that men can handle the waxing. LOL.
    wax
pluck them with tweezers, but don't over pluck

How bad does it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed?

it doesn't hurt that bad. Waxing is very fast and the pain goes away almost instantly. If you have sensitive skin it you may have irritation later, but that's about it. It depends how bad you are with pain. How bad does it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed?
it doesn't hurt at all really. it's just kind of shocking sometimes lol. i'm a big wimp so my eyes always water, but not cuz it hurts. they might be a tiny bit pink after but it goes away quick usually. and then of course they always look great after.

one tip though is get them done at a hair salon, not nails. at least if you have sensitive skin cuz i really do, and the one time i got them done at a nail salon, i broke out a little bit right on my eyebrows.

good luck! How bad does it hurt to get your eyebrows waxed?
at first it might hurt but its like a band aid and i know thats what everyone says but its true...it'll hurt for a second and thats it also once you do it on a regular basis [not every day like every week or so when you need to again] it barely hurts because you start to get used to it
Not bad if you don't have alot of wolf eye brows like I did the first time if you do it will hurt but after they get the excess hair off and you go back before it grows thick it won't bother you as much.Waxing is cute b/c it looks neat and cleanier than arching and especially drawing them things on!!!
Really, its not that painful but really worth it. And, when being waxed, its only for like 5 to 10 seconds, and, just grip on something when you're being waxed....or bring a soft toy for gripping and punching on...to show your pain, so, you might want to do that but you will look lame, mind you.
Hurts at first, its just 5 seconds of pain. You get use to getting your eyebrows waxed and it doesn't hurt as much.

It last longer when you get them waxed, you don't have to pluck them every couple of days.
it hurts alot and after u get red marks
    trust me,

i have done it a few times,

you might be scared at first,

but its way better then spending all ur time tourchering yourself from plucking them out one at a time,

it really doesnt hurt that band,

    and its really quick,

u might feel the ripping from the wax for like 5 seconds and then the pain is over,

my first time was when i was 13, and i thought it would hurt so bad, but im glad that i did it, b/c i found out its easy and quik, and very unpainful.
    it hurts just a little
I HATE PAIN and I get my waxed I freaked at first then I laughed at my self it don't hurt at all!!!!!!
not too bad. i think its sooo worth it lol

Have you got your eyebrows waxed before?

    Did you like them?

If you didn't how long did they take to grow back?

Please don't harass me with the ';Your asking to many questions'; if you don't have any good answers then just leave

    and go somewhere else.

thanks and have a nice day :]Have you got your eyebrows waxed before?
When you're first getting them shaped, it's a process of trial and error and you're bound to dislike them the first couple of times you go. After a while they started to look great but now I just pluck them myself.

(It took about a week for mine to start getting noticeably 'stubbly' looking.)Have you got your eyebrows waxed before?
got my brows waxed due to my uni lol i admit my unibrow ha ha ha... my stylist had to stop doing hair and stuff... so i have to shave it. i need a new stylist... probly my friend who's training in cosmetology... ya that sounds good
After all the waxing that has been done by both myself and professionals it was not until I discovered the process of threading was I truly pleased with the results.

I believe this is more a middle eastern practice, which involves some strong thred being twisted together and then put up to your face where they pull it tighter and it rips the hairs out at the root in a much more precise, be it painful method.

It was like the woman was just skimming away all the extra hairs that were outside my most natural shape of eyebrow. They were beautifully groomed and looked so natural as if I had the most perfect eyebrows ever.
If I were you I would pluck them, or have someone else do it. I have done it for a few years now and now do all my firends, sister, and mom. Just pick out a picture in a magazine of eyebrows you really like (yes, it sounds crazy but it works) and just try to copy it. Just remember if you want an arch, curve, or a striaght look.
waxing is really good. its hard to get a shape when you pluck them and alot of people get them uneven. go to a stylist to get them done, not just anyone. if ur eyebrows are a wierd shape you should talk to a stylist. mine have a sharp curve, but when you get them waxed you cant tell. it doesnt hurt alot, it just makes ur eyes water. mine take about a month before they grow back.

ps. if ur getting them done take some big sunglasses with you because your eyes stay red for a few hours afterwards.
I get my eyebrows waxed at a salon every four weeks and I like them. The very first time I went she asked me how I wanted them and I said I wanted a nice, natural, flattering shape, not too thick and not too thin. She did a great job! I usually pluck out any obvious strays once a week between visits.

Find a reputable salon to get them done (ask around if you're not sure of the quality). And if you want a specific shape/style you can always bring a picture with you, like you do for a haircut, although a good eyebrow shaper will know what will look best on your unique face.
yep i get them done every 2 weeks and i love the shape and everything. it gives it a really good clean look that you cant get from plucking then yourself
I didn't like them at first. But it was easier and cleaner so once I got them waxed I just plucked them the way I wanted. It was easier.
i have mine waxed every 3 weeks and i love it and they do a great job
ya i get my eyebrows waxed everytime i go to the salon it hurts for me because i hav sensitive skin lol but i dont really notice them grow back that fast. good luck :)

How long does it take to wax eyebrows, and do you need an appointment?

just a few minutes and most places like you to make an appointment but you can always call and ask if they take walkins. How long does it take to wax eyebrows, and do you need an appointment?
2-3 minutesHow long does it take to wax eyebrows, and do you need an appointment?
It all depends on the place you're getting them waxed at. I got mine waxed at a hair salon place and it took less than five minutes and I didn't even make an appointment.
It all depends on where you go.

I have had mine done at nail salons it takes about 5 minutes and cost under 8 bucks and you Dont need an appointment

I perfer a better quality salon because they spend more time and get every stray hair and exfoliate the area. but you DO need an appt. and its under 30 bucks
maximum 5 minutes, some places you need to book, other places they'll take walk ins but you might have to wait
It really depends on where you go. The place I go to takes about 10-15 minutes and they always accept walk-ins.

  • I want to go and get my eyebrows waxed...?

I should just go to a professional right.. My eyebrows are super bushy... But it'll be weird because one day i go to school with eyebrows then the next i have thin eyebrows. I also want it so it'll look natural and fit my face.. do i just ask for that?

Any suggestions on what i should do?I want to go and get my eyebrows waxed...?
    Definitely go to a professional.

If you do it yourself and it drips,WHAM!

You only have half and eyebrow!

You'll probably get a lot of compliments.

You should start with only cleaning them up and shaping them, don't take off too much because you might not like it.

Just tell the person doing it, that it's your first time and you don't want anything too drastic, and kinda show them.

They might have you draw on your face where you want them and whatnot.

It sting a little, but you'll get used to it!I want to go and get my eyebrows waxed...?
usually people with bushy eyebrows have a really nice shape but just have a lot of exces hair (i was one of them)...so what u do is go to a proffesional tht is 4 sure ( u could look at some girls at ur skewl and see wich eyebrows u like most and ask her where she gets hers done)....and when ur at the beauty shop ask them wax ur eye brows keep the shape and just remove the exces hair...for the first time u should take a picture with u of the type of eye brows u like or take sum1 with u so they can watch the person waxing and guide them....dont worry I was worried the first time I got my eye brows done after the first time u get it done u should be fine...and about going to skewl go for it do ur thing and walk those hallways without bushy eyebrows
Nooo...it won't be weird. For the first time, make sure you go to a REALLY really good salon, regardless of cost. You want someone who will do the absolute best job and listen to what you want. After the 1st time, you NEVER need to get your brows done professionally again (well, at least for a long time). Just make sure you regularly check them and pluck stray hairs with a tweezers. I got my brows waxed over 2 years ago and I haven't had to go back yet because every couple days I just pluck the stray hairs. Good luck!
go to a professional and tell her that you don't want them to be to thin and then little by little everytime u go u could make them thinner until its the way that u lyk them......it shouldn't matter if u have bushy eyebrows n then u dnt bkuz every1 wuld just think dat u look prettier n better!!!
i had really bushy eyebrows to.. i JUST started plucking them... i did it over a weekend so i could get used to it myself.. i am very pleased with them... and sometimes i wouldn't trust other people with my eyebrows ask your mom for advice.. thats what i did... just don't shape them too much
yep, just ask them to clean them up. natural/fit face good words.

Wait till Friday!!! It is normal to have breakouts on fresh waxed skin.

And you need time for skin to get back to normal color. it's red for a bit.

I try to ice a little that night.
go get a professional to do it. if you do it yourself or have a friend do it, it could be very, very awkward and very bad.

    especially with wax.

just tell them how you want to look and they'll help you out.

don't wax!!! this is so much better for your eyebrows and it comes out cleaner too...

    http://www.helium.com/items/704562-eyebr鈥?/a>

    good luck!
Just ask to get them shaped nicely to suit your face and they should do that, don't worry if people notice it's for the better right?

    Good luck
tell them not too thin, and to keep them natural, just clean them up

    :)
yeah get them professionally done. It will be fine , just say i got um done.
yes, the person will know exactly what to do don't worry :)
    do it over the summer

How does a girl know what shape to wax/pluck her eyebrows?

go have it professionally done and then when they start to grow back in follow the patternHow does a girl know what shape to wax/pluck her eyebrows?
take hair off from the inside (side by eye) to shape them, not the top. if you take it off the top, they will most likely look like they are crowding your eyes. Start with plucking, before you try waxing. go slow and stop to look at them often.

exception to this rule: if you have *extremely* thick eyebrows, then you can take Some off the top, but be very careful.

Does getting your eyebrows waxed hurt, or does plucking hurt more?

both hurt a little but only for a few mins and then it goes awayDoes getting your eyebrows waxed hurt, or does plucking hurt more?
Plucking hurts, but waxing is worseDoes getting your eyebrows waxed hurt, or does plucking hurt more?
Well, they both, obviously, will hurt.

Waxing can be done less, but can irritate the skin, leaving it red.

You have to do that less often. Plucking is more constant, and its easier to mess up, but, to me, it hurts less?
Waxing hurts...but it is so much faster. And the pain goes right away.
I think that plucking hurts more because it takes longer waxing is fast.
    Plucking hurts more.
um, plucking hurts more because it is pulling out one or two hairs at once...takes longer. waxing is like ripping a bandaid off of a sore on legs with hair on them....hurts for a second then goes away unless you are sensitive....

    you should try threading....LOVE IT!
I have done both and both hurt. Waxed is hurt but faster. Plucking is hurt and a lot slower to do and you need to do more than one plucking.

It all depend on what you like.
Both hurt I think waxing hurts more but it is alot faster!
plucking hurts at first, but then you get used to it. waxing is easier and takes less time. waxing hurts when the person isn't so pro.
Plucking is a pain in the butt for me, but I do it everyday. Waxing is much easier and only hurts for a moment, plus the woman at the salon will do it for u and u wont have to worry about making them uneven.
    plucking hurts more
You get better results waxing. Tweezing hurts more. YOU PLUCK A CHICKEN YOU TWEEZE YOUR EYEBROWS!
    still screaming from eyebrow wax
they both hurt to me my eyes water so bad hate it but has to be done
Actually, neither hurts for me. My eyes never water or anything and I barely feel anything. Around my eyebrow does get very red for awhile after getting them waxed though. I guess it depends on your pain tolerance. I would personally say waxing hurts more, I guess. It goes by pretty quick though..
I've had bikini waxes, leg waxes and eyebrow waxes. They don't hurt as much as they sting a little. Much better than plucking.

I've tried the waxing thing myself at home. Be careful. I let a pro do it now.
it all depends I guess. If you have a really good professional waxer they apply powder and pressure afterwards, the pressure really helps. Plucking takes much more time, however waxers pluck the ones they are afraid to wax.
to plucc hurts more than to wax plus wax is easier and cleaner

How do get wax out from my eyebrows without ripping my skin or the hairs?

I bought this Sally Hansesn do it urself waxing for ur eyebrows and it like completety got rid of my left eyebrow and i need to get it out from my right eyebrow w/o ripping off all the hair and my skin! How do get wax out from my eyebrows without ripping my skin or the hairs?
Baby oil will work. usually you can buy oils that will take the wax off so you dont rip it off. :)

Good luck not tearing your skin and hair from your eyebrow :)How do get wax out from my eyebrows without ripping my skin or the hairs?
Use a hot washrag to soak the wax till it can be peeled off. Keep appling the washrag of hot water till it is all gone.
Don't use water or soap, they will make a mess and make it worse. Saturate a cotton ball in baby oil and put it on your eyebrow, hold it there for about 5 minutes. Then saturate another one, and slowly wipe the wax off.
    water and soap
I usually use baby oil. Lotion also works and is kinda soothing. I've used rubbing alcohol before too.
Baby oil all the way i do a lot of waxing at my salon and that is what we use take a cotton ball and just rub it off with it Good luck
Put a hot wet washcloth over it and wait for awhile. Next time hun, just get it waxed at the salon. It only costs ten dollars most places. And to keep from ripping your skin off, put baby powder on your skin before you apply the wax next time.
You might try a really hot damp washcloth

Also try baby oil or olive oil

Attn Women: Is guys getting eyebrows waxed weird?

I want to get my eyebrows waxed, just to clean them up and maybe take a little bit off. Do you girls think that its weird? I'm going to do it anyway, but I just wanted more girl opinions. ThanksAttn Women: Is guys getting eyebrows waxed weird?
no, go for it, my husband gets it done when I can get him to si still long enough and it looks great. Just tell them you want a natural man look so they don't overpluck and make you look a bit gay.Attn Women: Is guys getting eyebrows waxed weird?
I don't think that it's weird and I'm not into that whole metro sexual thing. A giant uni brow that looks like a caterpillar crawling across your forehead....that's weird. :)
Waxing is not the best idea for eyebrows because it is not so precise. Try threading instead
I was in a Salon when a guy came in for eyebrow waxing. It wasn't a big deal. He didn't even Yelp much!

    I don't think it's weird.
only when he chooses but if his girlfriend makes him than yea
    its cool
It's fine, especially if they're ';bushy'; right now. A lot of men in Hollywood get it done, it's a pretty accepted thing.
No, not weird at all. Many, many men do it, not to mention all the actors, athletes, rock stars, male models.
    NO. ITS CALLED METROSEXUAL

What does ';thread your eyebrows 'mean? is that plucking them or waxing, or what? and where does that term come

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal which originated in parts of India, the Middle and Far East, and is now gaining popularity in Western countries. It is as popular with men in Arabic countries as it is with women, though they still shave the beard part of their face with a traditional safety or straight razor, doing their ears and eyebrows with thread.

Thin, twisted cotton threads are rolled over untidy hairlines, mustaches and so on, plucking the offending hair.

Practitioners use a pure cotton thread. They generally twist the hair and threading pulls out a whole row of hair, as opposed to tweezing where only one single hair is pulled out. Threading is often preferred to tweezing because of the naturally straight lines of hair removed by the thread. It is pulled out from the follicle. Some women focus particularly on the area between the eyebrows, thus interrupting so-called ';unibrows';.

Like other methods of hair removal such as plucking or waxing, threading can result in skin irritation and ingrown hairs, however, threading is more effective and less painful than tweezing; hair re-growth becomes finer and more sparse after regular treatments; and the top layers of skin are not peeled or traumatized in the process. For this reason, threading is highly recommended and an excellent option for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, and similar productsWhat does ';thread your eyebrows 'mean? is that plucking them or waxing, or what? and where does that term come
Its basically plucking them out, but they use this special string to pluck them out instead of tweezers or waxing. They say its more precise than other techniques, its very interesting to watch :D I think it originated in India. What does ';thread your eyebrows 'mean? is that plucking them or waxing, or what? and where does that term come
Yeah- using thread twisted in a special way- the result is a more precise eyebrow and it hurts about as much as waxing. Orginated in the middle east/India
actually i have heard of people plucking eyebrows with sewing thread. how the hell they do it its beyond me, but i have heard it.

  • I've never gotten my eyebrows waxed at a salon before .. ?

I'm 13 and I've never gotten my eyebrows professionally done before because my mom wouldn't let me . So I just plucked them at home and they turned out fine . But I'm going to get them waxed at a salon, so I have a really stupid question . What exactly happens there ? Like how do you know what your eyebrows are going to look like afterwards ? Do you show them a picture or something lol . But yeah, can someone please tell me ? No mean/stupid answers . Thanks .I've never gotten my eyebrows waxed at a salon before .. ?
Typically, we do not show pictures. Every person has a unique brow shape, and your best option is to have your own shape defined, by cleaning up excess. If you are wanting a thinner brow, or a more prominent arch, we can generally do so, but still have to consider the way your brow naturally grows. The waxing process goes like this (at least where I work):

    1. I hand you a mirror and discuss your options. Before removing any hair, I make sure we are thinking the same idea.

    2. I clean the area to make sure any oils that would prevent the wax from adhering are removed. I usually apply a small amount of baby powder to the area to reduce irritation, but many waxers differ on this.

    3. A thin layer of wax is applied, then a strip over that. The strip is smoothed down, the surrounding skin is held taut, and the strip is ripped off. (This usually stings a little, but most people find it less painful than tweezing). Each area that needs waxed is done in the same manner.

    4. A little bit of wax remover is applied to remove any stickiness, then any stray hairs are tweezed and cut to shape.

Ask your wax tech if they have any cooling gel if you feel a little irritated. If not, a cool, damp cloth held over the area will reduce stinging and redness. The whole process typically takes 10-15 minutes.

Hope this helps, and good luck!I've never gotten my eyebrows waxed at a salon before .. ?
hey, im 13 too. i dont trust anyone with my eyebrows my friends mothers got messed up by someone before. i pluck myself, so much better :)

You shouldn't need a picture. Generally they will wax to give a shape to compliment your face naturally. If you would prefer more of an arch or a thicker/thinner look, let them know and they will be able to tell you if it will suit your face.

Eyebrows can make or break a face so don't be afraid to ask. A natural look is much better than over tweezed!
they will probably just follow your natural eyebrow shape that's what they do with mine and just tidy them up a bit, or you can tell them if you'd like them thinner, shorter whatever. it doesnt hurt and is much easier than plucking :)
they shape it and let you know what they'ree gonna do. They put wax onto the places that you want hair removed and then put a cloth ontop of it. THen they pull it off. And trust me-it only hurts for a minute!
If you go to a good salon, the woman will ask you what you want and you'll describe for her what you are looking for. She will also, probably, tell you what will look good with your features. Afterwards you will probably be red or at least very pink around the area that you had waxed. If you have fair skin it will last longer and be redder, and if you have sensitive skin you might get a few little bumps the first few times until your skin gets used to it. I would suggest getting it done on a Friday when you have no plans for the weekend, so you can see how your skin will react and you have a few days. Once you know what to expect the next times will be easier.
yeah i no how u feel. The eye brow waxing ladys dont lke to listen, so u have to find a place where there gunna understand what u meen. Tell them exactly what u want, lke say, i just want them cleaned up, and dont want them too skinny. And is they ont listen, dont give them a tip!
mhm...just tell them to -clean them, and keep the same shape-{if u like the shape of them} and yeah its really quick n they turn out great

    a tip..:

dont touch them after u gettem dun ull get bumps on ur eyebrows its weird cuz ur skin might be sensitive
They just give you a general shape or they draw them on first
yea i want to get mine done too im 14 though and i i feel the same way...wen u get a best answer email it to me

    thankz
I have never had my eyebrows waxed. I have been to many salons and watched them do the waxing. The Asian salons do not show pictures. A lady puts the wax on with a popsicle stick device and then she puts the paper on and pulls. She she may do a little tweezing and then she lets people look in the mirror. I hope this helps.

How long does it take for eyebrows to grow back after they've been waxed?

I've just had my eyebrows waxed and they're a little bit thinner than i'd like them to be. How long does it take for the hair ro grow back? My eyebrows are very dark and don't look too good thin. How long does it take for eyebrows to grow back after they've been waxed?
on average 2 to 3 weeks unfortunately, you will just have to use a brow correcterHow long does it take for eyebrows to grow back after they've been waxed?
I feel your pain...That happened to me a couple of years back and it never grew back the same...direction wise, and I use to have really nicely shaped eyebrows which didn't take much maintenance now I have to actually shape them a bit...just my left one because it grew back differently...but don't worry it will grow back like 3-4 weeks...but a bit longer than that to have them fully grown which is what I assume you want. Patience is key right now...don't keep playing with them let it grow. Eyebrows can really make or break your face so when you get someone to do them for you don't assume they know what works for you...let teh aestehticican know exactly what you want or what you don't want.
Well, the growth of hair depends upon your hormonal activities so for some it takes 2 weeks, for some 3 and rarely 4 but average n normally it takes 3 weeks.
at least a month once i was shaving the middle of my eyebrows i didn't have a unibrow i just had little hairs and i messed up and it took a month
Usually about 2-3 weeks. But I am unlucky and mine grow even faster than that.
i have to get mine done every 4 wks or so,but there is some growth in between that time

I will be honest I wax my eyebrows just a little to make them a better shape and more groomed. Do you think it looks too feminine on men when we do? Or is it a good thing.Does waxed eyebrows look bad on men?

    no they doesn`t
not totally , it depends on how much hair u removed , men's eyebrows should be a little bit pushy
well for me it makes guys look to feminine
    I dont think so

I think it can be sexy
On you, anything and everything is SEXY!!!
is that you on your avatar? then no it doesnt look one bit feminie and you look like a model
Never seen it. Whatever spins your prop.
This is absolutely fine .. more and more men are taking a lot more care about their appearance and using beauty products, attending beauty salons etc.

    I dont like it (personally)
if you have eyebrows like freakin sasquatch by all means get them waxed... even then it is not feminine
don't worry a lot of men do it. even some men put make up on. by the way i don't do that.
def good - just the middle tho otherwise it looks too girly
I like a man to look groomed. If that is you in the picture then it looks good. Don't go too far though by trying to make it look too neat. Men need to look a little rugged but not too much.
    NO. it looks better
    its definitely a good thing
why are you waxing yourself do you do it to your ***** as well

Hmmm, I would suggest putting some 100% Aloe on it for a cooling and soothing. Oh yeah, and I remember when I would do my eyebrows I would put oragel or anbesol to numb the area. Whatever works right? LOL good luck!
No pain, no gain, right? LOL! I know the feeling.

Someone suggested ice, and that might work for a temp fix.

I personally take a few Tylenol or aspirin and that usually helps the pain

    subside. Good Luck!
Probably there is know way. Wait for a while and then consult a doctor.
    ice

Eyebrow help: first time wax; where to go; the right price; does it hurt? etc.?

I'm planning to get my eyebrows done for the first time. I was wondering what it is like, what to tell them, if it hurts, where to go, how much it should cost, etc.

My natural brows are thick, but sparse. I want it to look natural, not that penciled-in thin line look. Can anyone tell me what I should explain to them?

Bare in mind that I am 15, I don't wear makeup, but I do take for hair and skin care.

I cannot stand pain at all! I hate shots, so tell me what it feels like. Any memories or advice from your first eyebrow wax? How old were you?Eyebrow help: first time wax; where to go; the right price; does it hurt? etc.?
i'm not going to lie to you, waxing hurts. i've never had my eyebrows waxed but i've had areas on my face waxed and it hurts. i have my eyebrows threaded... a friend whose mother does eyebrow threading told me that waxing pulls off a very thin layer of skin every time and if you keep waxing your eyebrows you will get wrinkles around that area...

threading feels like plucking, if you've ever plucked your eyebrows... it doesn't hurt THAT badly... but any way you want to remove hair, it's going to hurt, sorry to say =\

i'd really go with threading... you don't have to get them done really thin. just tell the person who is doing them that you want them shaped but not thin.

    good luck!

oh and i forgot to answer your other questions lol... waxing can cost anywhere from like $6-10... threading (if you're interested in that is usually $8). Go to a nail salon to get it done (if you want them threaded, you have to go somewhere that offers it because not every nail salon does).Eyebrow help: first time wax; where to go; the right price; does it hurt? etc.?
I had my first eyebrow wax when i was 12... it doesnt hurt too bad and i have a low high pain tolerance... it hurts for a second and then it stops! You tell them at a nail salon that you want them shaped and NOT THIN!!! or else they will wax them off! It costs anywhere from 10-20 dollars! GOOD LUCK!! :) hope this helps

What is the best to do: get eyebrows threaded or waxed?

waxing give great results when done by an expertWhat is the best to do: get eyebrows threaded or waxed?
Threading because it gives the eyebrows more definition. I dont mind the extended discomfort because they give better result that waxing.
    threaded...
My best friend is a hair stylist...she says threaded is better, but it hurts more. Getting waxed you take the possibility of getting burned.
I say threaded but make sure you use a professional it will really hurt the 1st couple of times.. like the first time you pop that cherry.
    I say waxed..especially the 1st time u get them done..it looks fresh..
Ok, I'm an old guy so maybe my opinion doesn't matter. But I've always loved women with thick natural eye brows, one over each eye, I'm not into unibrows.

  • How do you wax men's eyebrows?

So my little brother's eyebrows are on the verge of what one may call a unibrow. I've finally convinced him to allow me to wax his eyebrows. He refuses to go to a salon %26amp; get them done, though. I just need a step by step process on how to do it. What's the best waxing strips to get? What are the parameters in where to wax for men? How can I make the pain less severe? Anything you have to offer at ALL helps! Thank you so much! How do you wax men's eyebrows?
just put wax between the brows and yank it off. and on any stray hairs around the brow but dont shape them. Use hot wax and dab it where it needs to go with a popsicle stick like thing and use the nonsticky side of tape put it on hot wax, pat down and rip fast. its easy and isnt as painful as they sayHow do you wax men's eyebrows?
    same as women.......duh!

get a spoon, either put it in the fridge for 15 minutes, or put in ice water for a while and then hold it to your brows. The same trick for hickies! haha. After putting the spoon, make sure you use foundation and coverup...no one will mind though, no worries. Hope that helps!
thinly sliced cucumbers (but you don't have time), or a thin ice pack, or really cold washcloth. Also maybe some aspirin or motrin to reduce the swelling. Should help.
ice them for like half an hour then put aloe vera gel on them then let dry while doing other things and cover up whats left of redness with cover up, good luck!
Just put cover up on it. I have the same problem, mine stay red for more than a day!!
hold a cool cloth on it or even ice for a little while and that should help!
u need to buy ALOE gel
