Getting married in 3 days -- is it safe to get my eyebrows waxed?

Hi. My wedding is this Saturday afternoon. I was thinking of going to get my eyebrows waxed today. I've never done it before, but I don't want to have any irritation or redness on Saturday.

Do you think I would be safe if I went this afternoon? How long does it usually take for the irritation to go away?

Thanks!Getting married in 3 days -- is it safe to get my eyebrows waxed?
If you've never done it before I would go to someone that actually tweezes the brows.

I wouldn't want you to react to the wax and have a problem. I was once burned with wax getting mine done and I wouldn't chance it this close to the wedding.

If you opt for the tweezing, the irritation should be minimal.

Good luck.

Edit, Are you tan right now? This may seem silly, but if you have a tan the eyebrow waxing will expose new skin that hasn't been tanned yet. I'm sure that make up can fix it, but one more thing to think about.Getting married in 3 days -- is it safe to get my eyebrows waxed?
Yes you should be fine, unless:

1) you have unltra sensitive skin, then you want to make sure the wax isn't over heated.

2) You are on any prescriptions that thin our your skin, such as acne facial medications such as retin a-minicyclne, becuase they will cause a layer of your skin to be removed during waxing.

Also: just make sure you go to someone reliable and that will do the shpe of your eyebrows the way you want. Ask around your friends to see who they use. And if you are really worried about it, have them apply a little baby power to yur skin prior to the waxing this should help reduce redness and irritation! Good luck!
Yes, as others have commented, it takes just a short time for the redness to go away. But, since you have never had your eyebrows waxed before, I wanted to caution you on another matter. My experience. The first time I had my eb waxed, I was devastated by the outcome. I have very ';sparse'; eyebrows to begin with and I just wanted the little extra hairs above and below (almost invisible) to be removed. When I looked in the mirror, I had two, tiny, almost invisible eyebrows left and I had to use eyebrow powder to make myself look halfway normal for quite a while. Just make sure you explain to the person doing the waxing what you want. I would hate to see you unhappy on your wedding day.
You should be fine by Saturday, but if you've never had them waxed before, there's no guarantee that you won't experience a reaction from the wax. I don't think it's a good idea to do ANYTHING beauty-related that you've never done before this close to your wedding day. Can't you just tweeze them really good?
Yes. As long as you go atleast 2 days prior to the wedding you should be fine. You might want to try threading though. They can control the area of hair removal better and it is more sanitary. I did this for my wedding and it was much better than the times I got them waxed.
If you use Retinol (Retin-A) then don't do it.

Otherwise, 3 days should be enough for the redness to go away. Actually, it should be fine by tomorrow.

It shouldn't take more than a few hours for the irritation to go away but they do have creams to help soothe it.
You shold be fine. The redness and such should go away in a day, definatley before 3 days. They should have spray or something that cools down the burning and stuff, it also helps with irritation, ask them if they have something like that.
Personally, I'd say no to wax and just get them tweezed. It's too important of a day to risk irritation or break-outs around that area.

Normally the redness goes away in a day, but... what if your skin is more sensitive and it doesn't and you end up with red dots?
How sensitive is your skin? Does it normally get irritated easily? My skin is not very sensitive and it usually only takes about a full 24 hours for the irritation to go away for me.
One of my sister's friends had her eyebrows waxed for the first time and her skin was very red and irritated for a few days, she didn't even show up at gym because of it.
Yes it is safe...I would do it a day or 2 before the wedding just to be on the side of caution...This will allow the redness and irritation to go away, if you have any!
of course its safe! i get mine done everyweek....and the irritation only last like an hour or so..sometimes i dont even get red...but it doesnt last long..and totally safe as your wedding is 3 days away! Happy wedding!
I agree with the previous posters about tweezing or you can also try threading. Since it's your first time You COULD have a bad reaction to the wax - I wouldn't want to deal with that If I were you...
yes. it typically only takes a few hours for irritation to go away, and at the most, a day.
hi, if its ur first time noooo, u dnt kw whats gna happen , go to some1 who uses twezzers. congratulations on ur wedding.

I just got my eyebrows waxed. they are swelling and are real red what should i do?

Neosporin, ice, and cold cream... hand out at home for a couple hours and you'll be cood as new!.. ps try threading next time!I just got my eyebrows waxed. they are swelling and are real red what should i do?
If you have anything with aloe vera it would help..if not then the obviuos answer is ICE... but I have actually used the panama jack product called ';cool me down'; it is for really bad sunburn..it looks like hair gel..and it worked excellent. But it shouldn';t be 2 long before it goes down.I just got my eyebrows waxed. they are swelling and are real red what should i do?
Nothing, it's totally normal. Don't touch it. It'll go down within a few hours.

Can you answer this?

If you have oily skin don't put lotion of any kind on. I have oily skin and this only causes bumps to pop up.

I always just let the swelling go down naturally but ice will help too.
Ice them and then put some Cortaid or Neosporin on the skin. It will take away the redness and calm the skin.
Ice perhaps? They should have put some kind of cream on afterwards if you got it done at a salon.Don't worry,it'll go away.
Put a soothing cream on, especially one containing aloe vera, this always helps me.
Just leave them,

you have just had hot wax smothered on them along with hairs and a layer of skin ripped off!
ice? it'll go down eventually.
Rub some ice cubes and relax, might help.
aloe gel
Ouch! I'd rather be a turtle than to be a girl.
ice often and afterwards a cool washcloth. itll be gone in no time
put some ponds on them
put ice one it and some lotion
go to the place u got them done and see wot they say

Waxed my whole eyebrow.. NEED MAJOR HELP?

I accidentally got wax on my whole eyebrow and I have being trying to get it off with out removing the eyebrow what do I do?!?!Waxed my whole eyebrow.. NEED MAJOR HELP?
try using rubbing alcohol... just make sure it doesnt have peroxide or that will cleach the brow.

if worst comes to worst, use nail polish remover. if it can get crap off your nails, it'll get goop out of your brows. just be REALLY careful... that + eyes is not a good thingWaxed my whole eyebrow.. NEED MAJOR HELP?
Oh no!, um, trying washing it off .

If not , then try to pluck the other eyebrow , but not the whole eyebrow , just so that it will be thinner and then put on an eyebrow pencil on both eyebrows.

I bet you look silly sitting there! I've been there though. =/ Try using hot water first, with a hot washcloth, so you don't burn your face. Then if that doesn't work, turn to vaseline, or baby oil. One of these methods should work.
I'm not professional in removing wax but just try to get it out without any pain. If you still can't do it, consult someone who can like a beauty physician etc.

Good Luck!~
I've done that before. I took a little baby oil on a eyebrow/eye lash comb and gently combed it out. The baby oil helps it slip out easier.
I accidentally the whole eyebrow
GET A FRINGE URGENTLY.
heat up the wax again with hot water and it should come off
yikes! id put peanut butter or something oilly on your hair so it will slip off easily. good luck!
draw until it grows back, or get the fake ones

  • Which is better waxing or stringing?(eyebrows)?

threading usually gives a clean close to the skin result.

I prefer threading, fast cheap and precise

    waxing is alright too.

the only problem is finding someone doing a good job

Which is better waxing or stringing?(eyebrows)?
    Waxing for sure

more accurate and looks better doesn't feel so weird eitherWhich is better waxing or stringing?(eyebrows)?
    waxing

Do my eyebrows need tinting and waxing?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/10857754@N08/965914006/Do my eyebrows need tinting and waxing?
Your brows DO NOT need tinting-they are so pretty, but do need waxing.

Take Halle麓s picture to a waxer, and tell the person you want them waxed just like hers.

http://imagecache2.allposters.com/images鈥?/a>Do my eyebrows need tinting and waxing?
maybe just a bit of plucking to better define them
no. i think your eyebrows are fine the way they are. maybe a little waxing, but don't over do it or you'll look overplucked like a chicken.
go to the salon and let her use thread to make the shape with tweezers.you can always fill the gap with brown eyeshadow using the brush..

No tinting, don't make them thin, thick is always beautiful :)
Don't get them waxed. Get them threaded. Its much easier, less painful, the hair doesn't grow back as quickly, and the shape comes out a lot better.

Google it to find out where the do it near you :]

    Hope it helps!
Your eyebrow color is the perfect color it should be but I would definetly get them waxed and when the hair starts to grow back do little touch ups yourself
I think your eyebrows just need a little plucking to just shape it(if you dont know how to just ask one of your family members im sure they'll help you).

    Hope i helped!
yes i would get them waxed if i was you but not tinted or it will look strange as they are the same colour as your hair at the mo so they look normal!
    just wax no tint!
i think just waxing them would help shape your face and bring out your eyes better. You have an awesome arch to work with.
I couldn't see your picture but if your brows are think and you want to thin them down some I would suggest going and getting them waxed. then you can keep them plucked from there. just remember to only pluck from the bottom, never ever the top and keep your arch over your pupil. to many girls thin theirs out waaaay too much and it looks really creepy!
I think yes...cuz it brings out your eyes out more and it changes the look of your face.
    ide say just waxing

    :P
Just waxed if you want, your eyebrows are dark enough to not tint.
they need to be waxed but not tinted
No not all all your look very good.
Your eyebrows do not need to be tinted or dyed. I would go to a professional and get them waxed then you can keep them up by tweezing.

Questions about getting eyebrows waxed for first time?

im getting them done sometime before school starts

anyway would it make your face look much different because i have a big forehead and i dont want it to look any bigger...have you ever got your eyebrows done and didnt like the results...would it be weird if i asked the person how i want them done...and how can i prevent them getting a rash or bumps when its overQuestions about getting eyebrows waxed for first time?
well if its your first time then there will the skin will be red for a few hours but will be gone by the next morning. and no you can tell the lady you wont want your forehead to look big and she will know what to do, and they rarely mess up, you wont regret this good luck!Questions about getting eyebrows waxed for first time?
It doesnt really make your face shape look any different just makes your face appearance much cleaner. But if you think you have a big forehead why not get bangs? Anyways... no there wasn't really a time where i didnt like the results. No, it wouldn't be weird at all if you told the person how you want them done, because there your eyebrows, and your the one that will be walking around with them. So make sure you tell them exactly how you want them, or else they might wax them into a shape you may not like. In some places they even have a book, that shows different shapes of eyebrows, that you can pick. Also, you could look up pictures of different shapes of eyebrows... incase your not sure if they have a book like that at the place your going to. Also, about the bumps and rash thing, they do put some sort of liquid, or cream before waxing that helps out with the redness aferward, make sure they put it on! If they don't, then of course you can ask them what you can do to prevent the rash and bumps, although they only last like half an hour - 1 hour at most.
You shouldn't wax them you should get them done with these one people that use string. They do hurt, but the results are great

It wouldn't be weird to ask the person.

    You can't really prevent bumps.

    actually you don't get bumps.

    you don't luck much different

you're face will just look..... cleaner i guess

    not in a bad way
make sure you dont get them too thinned because it will make your forhead look rely big, and make sure the arch on the bottom is farther to the side of your head than the arch on the top... take a tums after to reduce redness (calcium) and they should have creams to take care of bumpys, if they dont- go somewher else...

ask how they will do it, thers no shame in that

btw tweezing is way better, because after time the delicate skin over the eyes will begin to sag, and were all vain! duh!
yes, it made my face look different but in a good way....it won't make your forehead look bigger. i have a big forehead too....i haven't had a bad job done on my eyebrows and not it won't be weird to ask the persn how you want them done....and I usually put alcohol on my face right after so i won't get bumps..
You Should get them done two weeks before school starts so the look more natural and give your skin a chance to get back to its normal tone.

For anything if you get a high arch it'll make you forehead look smaller.
    idk busshy brow
